Hello all,

We have made some additions to Nautical Nausea.

Some of these additions and changes were based on player feedback we received after the jam, other additions were made to increase variety during gameplay.

Here is the list of changes:

• Laser pointer is now on by default
  • One of the first things we noticed from player feedback was the need for the laser pointer. Every player we talked to told us their experience improved after turning it on. In response to this we have turned the laser pointer on by default.

• Added customization button to game over screen
  • We felt like having to go back to the main menu after every game to switch your equipped weapons around was a bit of a hassle, so this can now be done straight from the game over screen.
• Added heat-based cooldown mechanic
  • All weapons now fire significantly faster. To offset this we have introduces heat buildup. Whenever you fire a weapon it generates heat. When your heat capacity is full you can no longer fire at maximum speed.
• Added 2 new anti ship weapons
  • Flame cannon: a short range flamethrower with moderate recoil.
  • Ice shard cannon: functions similarly to the Heavy cannon, but it reduces heat buildup with every shot. When you run out of heat your turret will start to freeze and your rotation speed will gradually slow down.
• Added 2 new anti air weapons
  • Heavy air cannon: similar to the Heavy cannon, except it shoots up.
  • Missile cannon: fires missiles which home in on nearby enemies.
• Added 2 active abilities
  • Heat sink: provides increased maximum heat capacity. You can manually eject the heat sink to instantly lose all your built up heat, but your heat capacity will be reduced until the heat sink recharges.
  • Brake ring: greatly decreases friction, allowing for faster rotation. Can be activated to immediately come to a full stop.

There is still some balancing work to be done, but we hope you have fun with this update nonetheless.
